Don’t believe everything you read online
A fact to realize the digital world around us!
In my previous articles about Leadership (My Lessons Learn on Virtual Leadership & How do I define my Leadership style), I used a fact about Goal Setting effectiveness based on Goal Research of Dominican University of California. To summarize it:
The power of goal setting — Research by Dominican University College — where “Groups written Goals” archived significantly more than “Groups unwritten Goals” is 50% (😍) (6.44 / 4.28 in the report) [1].

The interesting thing here is when I researched about Goal Setting effectiveness before I found some Dominican’s research above like
Harvard Business School Research about Goal Setting

We can see the source from the book ‘What They Don’t Teach You in the Harvard Business School’ by Mark McCormack and when I tried to find the fact in McCormack’s book, I didn’t find those facts!

Besides it, the basis you can found a lot on Google:

Almost said the source from McCormack’s book, a bit said from Yale’s 1953 goal study!
Yale’s 1953 goal study

So we have no source about those facts on goal setting above. I tried more to find out the goal-setting study until I read Sid Savara’s article, where he sends the message like my article: “Don’t believe everything you read online… until you find out where is it from and have enough theoretical point” [5].

From his article, I found the research which using in my article about goal setting of Dominican University [1].
In the End,
3 points in my articles:
- Don’t believe everything you read online even a book… until you find out where is it from and have enough theoretical point
- Building yourself ‘Control and Feedback system’
- “In God we trust, all others must bring data”
